Knocksteady Zencast Vol. 2: Ninja Funk & Gangster Ballads - Ode to the Brotherland

Podcast #41: Tripmastermonk - Zencast Vol. 2 - Ninja Funk & Gangster Ballads by knocksteady

This is the follow up to the first podcast of the Knocksteady Zencast series that I have been doing for the fellas over at Knocksteady. The theme for this podcast was intended to be a silent nod of support for Japan, without the typical pretense or self promotion that is so prevalent in those "Support for Japan" disaster relief benefit albums. It's another peek into the tripmaster archive of music, this time from my collection of old Japanese music, mostly soundtracks and instrumental lounge music from the late 60's/early 70's. In case you haven't already noticed, this is the genre that has been the most influential in the direction and development of my sound. I've handpicked only the funkiest, baddest, and most beautiful selections for your enjoyment. You might recognize a few originals that I've sampled if you've been following my music over the years. All my fellow b-boys, beat diggers and break scavengers take heed...you're about to explore an uncharted realm of the funk that you never knew existed on the other side of this world. It is my hope that you discover a newfound appreciation for the music of the brotherland.

enjoy!

Big thank you to my aniki H20 for his assistance and kindness, without whom this mix would not be possible.
